Amy Lopez, CHID, IIDA
Amy leads McCoy-Rockford’s sales and design team for the Houston location. She is also a member of the Executive Management Team, which guides the company’s strategic direction.
Amy’s past experience includes serving as Vice President and Shareholder for Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR,) an engineering design and facility consulting firm and as a Principal and Shareholder of WHR Architects Inc., located in Houston, Texas. Her responsibilities included practicing as an interior designer and project manager, managing teams of engineering consultants, serving as a Principal in Charge (PIC) of Business Development/Marketing and as an elected member of the WHR Board of Directors for a total of 5 years.
Amy is guided by a simple principle, “I try to live by the golden rule: treat others as you want to be treated. This includes providing team members with a vision and empowering the them to discover the path to achieving their goals.”
Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Purdue University and is a registered Interior Designer in the state of Texas. She also holds a Certificate in the Executive Management Program from Rice University. She was one of the 50 founding members of the American Association of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID) and served as the AAHID President. Amy has been actively involved with International Interior Design Association (IIDA) since 1998 at the local, regional and international levels – including recognition in 2004 as one of IIDA’s Top Ten to Watch in the Interior Design industry.
Amy has been engaged as a volunteer for numerous community service projects including Center for Houston’s Future Business/Civic Leadership Forum in 2011. And she is currently involved in Sugar Land Little League serving for the past 5 years on the Board of Directors. Other involvement includes serving on the IIDA Houston Leaders Breakfast committee 2014/2015 as well as the Sugar Land Middle School PTA. Amy is happily married and a mother of three active boys.
